Kemopetrol make a comeback at Qstock!

After a lengthy hiatus, exceptional Finnish pop group Kemopetrol are appearing live on Qstock Saturday. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the group’s debut album Slowed Down, and the occasion is celebrated with two special festival shows, one at Qstock and the other at Provinssi in Seinäjoki.

Kemopetrol are remembered as pioneers in modern soundscapes and masters of ethereal moods. Released in 2000, Slowed Down is still a cornerstone in the history of Finnish pop music. The album made the group known to all Finns, sold gold and charmed the critics. The first single, Child Is My Name, was a massive radio hit.

For their special summer shows, Kemopetrol plan to play all the songs from Slowed Down along with selected tracks from their later albums.
Kemopetrol have released five albums in all, and lead singer Laura Närhi is also known for her successful career as solo artist.

This is by no means the first time that Kemopetrol appear at Qstock, for we saw them already at the second Qstock festival in 2004. This year Kemopetrol will perform at Qstock on Saturday 25 July.
