Enjoying a loyal cult following, Xysma have always been something of a peculiarity. The group formed in 1988 and spent their early days with grindcore and death metal, before becoming a force to reckon with in the death’n’roll genre. With their last two albums, Xysma moved toward stoner-influenced garage rock. Released in 1998 before Xysma decided to call it quits, Girl on the Beach remains the group’s latest album. Fortunately, the decision to quit did not last and this summer Xysma are really turning active in a touring sense. And this is not all: finally, the recording break is over, too, and a long-processed, new Xysma album will see the light of day in 2022!
